Music that Energizes from Eastern CT

If you are looking to shake your tail feathers to some funky/jazzy/bluesy music we have on our song list, turn the volume up and hit the dance floor with Blu Ja'nk. Our Eastern CT-based band provides good music to listen and move to for fundraisers, parties, public events, clubs and concerts. With our bluesy/jazzy funk repertoire and four experienced musicians, we provide fresh musical arrangements and, at a variety of funky rhythms that give our music-appreciating audiences a pleasant experience. 

As one of the few bands in Northeast Connecticut that specializes in a warmer, funky, jazzy, bluesy style of music (featuring saxophone and organ played through a Leslie speaker), Blu Ja'nk is different from other bands who play mostly classic rock, blues, and pop. With our song assortment, we are also able to tailor our performances to suit the needs of our audience.

Our band will keep people tapping their toes or moving their bodies for your entire event. Each of our musicians has a wide range of experience and expertise -- our funky drummer (John Boiano) refined his unique style in California; our bassist/organist (Lon Hultgren) performed with the Storrs Street Boogie Band in the 70's and our saxophonist (Chandler Creedon) is a grad student at UConn studying performance sax. Our guitarist (Larry Gage) from Ashford has been playing in Eastern CT for about 40 years. We also have some original songs written by Larry and Lon, but rearranging a song we like to suit our line-up and style is what we do best.
